今日の表現-The Monarchs' Song
今日は単語ではなく、
イギリス"monarch;君主"の歌です。
DVDだと歌詞の字幕がありましたが、
Youtubeではないので補いました。
"Family Tree;家系図"の詳しいリンクには
もう少し細かく載っています。
そちらでは
"Descendants of Alfred the Great"
"Descendant;子孫"
で
"Alfred the Great;アルフレッド大王"
から始まります。
同じ名前が多いので混乱しますが、
歌で、大まかに流れを覚えるとなんとなく理解できるようになります。

Always filing for a fight.

Henry VIII: Henry three built the abbey,
Ed one hated Scots.
A red-hot poker killed Ed two,
That must have hurt him lots!
Edward third was a chivalry nerd

Not least from Henry five, Moi?
I killed ten score at Agincourt
Then Henry six arrived.

Edward the sixth came next
But he died young & so my dreaded
